After the successful events of the ESMAC “Early Career Network” (ECN) at the last two annual ESMAC meetings, we are excited to announce our next network event in Oslo. The ECN aims to include PhD students and graduated early-stage researchers who are pursuing an academic career until securing a permanent position.

The goal of the ECN is to support, unite and inspire early career researchers and provide a platform to foster new collaborations among the next generation. Throughout the last year, we have organized webinars on topics that were voted to be relevant for early career researchers. In addition, we aim to involve those who are interested in the ESMAC society and conferences, for instance by being mentored while chairing a session or reviewing abstracts.

At this year’s ECN, we will focus on the topic of collaborative research. We have an interactive workshop in small groups and a testimonial sharing their experiences on organizing, conducting, and managing international, collaborative research projects. Also, this year, we are thrilled to hold a workshop dedicated to PhD students, covering their needs in the early phase of their research careers. The interactive sessions will be accompanied by a social gathering and fun games to help you get to know your fellow ECN’ers. Moreover, this event is the ideal opportunity to reflect on past experiences and look ahead to how you can benefit from the work and activities of the ECN.

You can sign up when you register for the conference via https://www.esmac2024.org/registration

Free admission, however, registration is required.

If you have questions, suggestions or are interested to participate in the organizing committee, please email ecn@esmac.org
